St. Louis man drowns while swimming in the Meramec

A 37-year-old St. Louis man fell victim to a drowning accident while swimming in the Meramec River on Saturday afternoon. While there remains some mystery as to what may have led to the man’s death, the county coroner’s office has ruled out foul play in the matter.

Numerous felony drug charges filed

    The following people were charged in recent weeks for drug-related felonies in Crawford County.
    • Gordon W. Wilson, 41, of Washington, Mo., stands charged with class D felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Former inmate files lawsuit against Crawford County, jail officers

• Attorneys cite use of “unnecessary and excessive force”
    A former inmate of the Crawford County Jail is suing corrections officers and the county. The St. Louis man, now serving time after his conviction for interstate prostitution, claims he was tased without cause, which led to serious injuries.
