MDC shares CWD info for upcoming deer season

With deer hunting opening for archery season on Sept. 15 and firearms portions in the coming months, the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) wants hunters, landowners, and others to know key information about chronic wasting disease, or CWD. MDC is continuing its efforts this fall and winter to limit the spread of CWD in Missouri deer by finding new cases and slowing its spread to more deer or more areas.

MDC confirms new state record brown trout caught at Lake Taneycomo

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) confirms Bill Babler of Blue Eye is now the new state-record holder for brown trout after catching a monster 40-pound, 6-ounce fish at Lake Taneycomo Sept. 4 using a pole-and-line.

MDC proposes regulation changes to help landowners control nuisance wildlife and invasive species

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is considering changing regulations to help landowners address damage caused by problem wildlife and feral hogs. MDC is proposing the changes in response to citizen requests to the Regulations Committee to use night vision or thermal imagery to address livestock loss caused by coyotes and damage caused by feral hogs.
