This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Missouri Stream Team Program and the 20th anniversary of Missouri Stream Team Watershed Coalition, also known as Stream Teams United. From its beginnings in 1989 with Stream Team #1, Roubidoux Fly Fishers, the Stream Team Program has grown to more than 5,800 Teams and 21 watershed-level Stream Team associations working in streams and rivers in nearly every corner of the state.

St. JAMES, Mo. – Missouri’s fifth largest spring, free trout fishing, a casting contest with prizes, and free hotdogs are all part of the fun at Kids’ Fishing Day, Saturday, May 18. The event is put on by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) in cooperation with The James Foundation. It offers free fishing and other fun activities for kids ages 15 years of age and younger at Maramec Spring Park, located near St. James. The park will open at 5:30 a.m. with fishing at 6:30 a.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) shows that turkey hunters checked 36,231 birds during Missouri’s 2019 regular spring turkey season, April 15 through May 5. Top harvest counties were Franklin with 785 birds checked, Texas with 729, and Callaway with 672.
