The president and CEO of Great Circle, a nonprofit that provides services to children and families, including one in St. James, has been charged with multiple counts of endangering a child, according to a St. Louis TV station.
Hutcheson Ford’s Drive 4 UR School fundraising event has been rescheduled for this Friday, May 10 after weather caused issues on its originally scheduled day last Friday. The Drive 4 UR School event is held each year and provides a chance to raise money for school programs and activities.
Sip n’ Savor turned 10 years old on Saturday, and visitors filled Washington and Springfield Streets in St. James to celebrate throughout the day, sampling wine, beer, and food. Sunny weather contributed to a large turnout this year, with a large crowd coming out to enjoy the festivities.
The Central District Coalition for Roadway Safety and Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) awarded St. James High School a $300 grant to assist with expenses of its docudrama. Docudramas enable students to have a tangible example and experience of the ramifications of impaired and distracted driving and importance of making good choices.
The City of St. James is in the early stages of planning summer street and storm water improvement projects for this year. After major road reconstructions last year, Public Works Director Lyle Thomas is planning on a small scope of projects this year, aimed at making improvements where possible while saving money for major projects next year.
