Tacony holding ‘Scoops and a Movie’ free event Friday night

To outsiders, St. James, Missouri may be a small town, but local residents know there are many hidden gems in their city. The Tacony Manufacturing Vacuum Cleaner Museum and Factory Outlet is one of them. To celebrate the St. James community and their support of everything vacuums, the museum will host the fifth annual “Scoops and a Movie” night Friday, September 15.  This event is free to the public with festivities starting at 6 p.m.

Anyone in the St. James area is welcome to this 100% free, family-friendly movie and ice cream night. The Vacuum Cleaner Museum will provide ice cream and other snacks for all attendees. Additionally, there is tons of fun planned for before the movie. Available for the children will be bounce houses, create your own Troll Hair in vibrate colors, decorate your own Tacony Pony, popcorn, cotton candy and of course, free museum tours. The movie begins just after dark on the jumbo screen, and the night will conclude with a special fireworks show. Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite snacks and non-alcoholic beverages for a fun family picnic.  As well as lawn chairs, blankets and insect repellent.
This is not only a celebration night of the people of St. James; it’s also the museum’s eighth anniversary. Those attending the event should arrive any time after 6 p.m. on September 15.  The movie will start at 7:30 p.m.
