Graduation for the Class of 2018 will be held this Sunday, May 20, beginning at 2 p.m. The graduating class will celebrate their long journey together in the middle school gym in front of friends and family.
Another class of graduating seniors will fill the gym as part of their final event together. Family and friends have waited for years to see their son or daughter walk across the stage in celebration of the closing of one chapter of their lives and the beginning of another. Those attending are encouraged to join with school administrators, teachers, and faculty as they celebrate another successful class from the St. James School District closing out their high school careers and preparing for future schooling, military service, or entering the workforce.
Parking is extremely limited, and attendees are encouraged to park in the Walmart Distribution Center parking lot. Copeland Bus Company will once again be providing shuttle services to the middle school, free of charge. Families and friends are encouraged to be early to get shuttled and seated in plenty of time for the graduation ceremonies.
Guest speakers will include the yet unannounced valedictorian and salutatorian, and school officials. Announcement of whom this year’s valedictorian and salutatorian are will be announced later this week. Senior members of the high school band and choirs will also be making their final performance during the ceremony.
The St. James School District encourages the community to come watch as the Class of 2018 perform their final duties as students in the district as they move into the next chapter of their lives.
