Freedom Fest 2018 will bring fun, food, and fireworks to Steelville on July 4 at the Steelville Community Park. This annual event is sponsored by the Steelville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Events kick off at 2 p.m. with food and craft booths opening, offering a variety of delicious foods and fun items to buy. The Car Cruise-In, presented by River Valley Rod and Custom begins at 3 p.m., and there will be kids relay games at 5:30 p.m.
Musical performances begin at 4:30 p.m. with LeVan and Laura Guinn, who play a variety of music. Soundboxx will take the stage at 6:15 p.m., a local band playing class rock and roll favorites. Just before the headliner for the night takes the stage, there will be a Salute to America at 8 p.m.
Kerosene 6 will play top country hits beginning at 8:15 p.m. The band, from Kansas City, is a new project formed by long-time friends and musicians, and fronted by former 6 Degrees West singer Tim Pardee.
The festivities will conclude with a fireworks show produced by Showtime Pyrotechnics at 9:30 p.m.
Admission for the event is $5 per vehicle at the front gate or $1 per person at the foot bridge. The fee will be collected from 2 to 9:30 p.m.
All proceeds from the event support Freedom Fest.
