Sickened trees to be replaced

    Those traveling on Highway 19 through Cuba may have noticed a problem with the city’s iconic tree-lined thoroughfare, which was Missouri’s first street to become part of the Adopt-a-Highway program more than 30 years ago. Many of the honey locust trees, which were planted along the highway from the BNSF railroad underpass to Interstate 44, have died or are dying, but plans are in the works to replace them.
