“Explosion of Cool Content” is the Steelville Arts Council’s current exhibition at Gallery Zeke, on display from August 2 through 25. This is an abstract art exhibition, featuring a trend in painting and sculpture in the twentieth century.
Abstract art does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, form, colors, line, and textures. Simply put, abstract art strays far from the notion of representing real-world objects in art form. It is exciting to see how different artists create a composition independent from visual references.
STARCO invites you to view these wonderfully unique art works this month. There will be a reception from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday August 4 for patrons to meet and greet the artists of this exhibit.
This exhibition will be open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or for a group tour by appointment, call Barb Bryan at 573-775-5285. Gallery Zeke is located at 106 Main Street in Steelville.
