The Steelville Arts Council is gearing up for its 2nd annual “Holiday Shoppe,” a place to find unique gifts created by local artisans.
The main focus of the Shoppe is to have an outlet for area artists and crafters to sell their creations on consignment. The community benefits by having reasonably priced unique gifts available to purchase in our hometown. Last year there was an assortment of pottery, carved wood, quilts, jewelry, scrimshaw knives, doll dresses, ornaments, wreaths and more. The Shoppe is looking forward to an even larger selection of gifts for 2018. The committee also invites local musicians to offer their CDs and authors their books.
The “Holiday Shoppe” will be located inside Gallery Zeke at 106 E. Main, with opening day set for Thursday, November 29. Hours will be Thursday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Special events are planned throughout December.
