Glenda “Fay” Elkins (nee Halbert) of Freeburg, Missouri was born on Sunday, October 6, 1957 in Steelville, Missouri to Horace Nathan Halbert Sr. and Leona Maude Adams Halbert and passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the age of 61 years and 28 days.
Fay married Harley Elkins on April 25, 2005 in Jefferson City, Missouri and she lived in Rich Fountain, Missouri for the last six years. She worked 20 years as a CNA at the Autumn Meadows Care Center in Linn, Missouri and four years at Westphalia Hills Retirement Center.
She enjoyed singing, fishing, camping, cooking and just being outdoors. She was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church, Sullivan, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Leona Halbert; brothers, Johnny Halbert, Darrell Halbert and Horace Jr. Halbert; sisters, Lucille Arnold and Ada Marie Walls; brothers-in-law, Jim Walls, Leonard Fudge and Charles Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Harley Elkins of Freeburg, Missouri; children, Danny (Dawn) Ray of Linn, Missouri, Brad (Jennifer) Ray of Cuba, Missouri, David (Jennifer) Ray of Jefferson City, Missouri, Cassie (Danny) Hayes of Gary, Indiana, Dustin McGill of Paris, Illinois and Heather (Byron) Hanson of Jefferson City, Missouri; brother, Harold (Vickie) Halbert of Cuba, Missouri; sisters, Anna Mae Fudge of Steelville, Missouri, Mary Smith of Cuba, Missouri and Rosalie (Robert) Kohler of Tacoma, Washington; 20 grandchildren; one great grandchild; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. and funeral service at 6 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Joe Robinson officiating.
