New district assignments set for basketball season

The Missouri State High School Activities Association released the new district playoff tournament basketball assignments last week. Cuba High School is ranked as a Class 2 school and will be joined in the District 4 tournament bracket by seven other schools, including three neighboring schools from the Gasconade Valley Conference.

This year’s Class 2, District 4 lineup includes Belle High School, Bourbon High School, Cuba High School, Dixon High School, Grandview (Hillsboro) High School, Kingston High School, and St. James High School.

The winners of the district tournament will move on to face the winners from District 3. The Class 2 schools from that district include Arcadia Valley High School, Herculaneum High School, Jefferson (Festus) High School, Scott City High School, St. Pius X (Festus) High School, West County High School, and Woodland High School.

The Cuba Wildcat boys are scheduled to start their regular season at Sullivan on November 16. The Cuba Lady Wildcats begin their season at St. Clair on November 20.
