FFA collects items for soldiers

The Bourbon FFA collected items and letters for soldiers overseas recently. Items collected included jerky or meat sticks, granola bars, gum, local newspapers, magazines, wet wipes, snack size crackers, cookie packs, individual powdered drink mixes, hygiene products, small packs of nuts, tuna packs, lip balm, cards, batteries, mints, trail mix, pop tarts and hard candy.

Those who helped contribute to the care packages included First State Community Bank, Peoples Bank, Cowtown, 5 Loaves, CDR Naturals, Temple Baptist Church, Living Word Church, Town & Country Bank, Bremer Hardware, ZX, Dollar General, Sinks Pharmacy, BOR2, the school and local individuals. Twenty-one boxes, weighing in at 280 pounds, were shipped overseas to soldiers from Missouri stationed in Afghanistan and Iraq. MarBal paid for all of the shipping.
