Phillip “Bo” Farrar Jr.


    Phillip “Bo” Eugene Farrar Jr. of Steelville, Missouri was born on Saturday, October 2, 1965 to Phillip Eugene Farrar Sr. and Dixie Lee Parker Farrar and passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the age of 53 years, 2 months and 29 days.


    Phillip was a lifelong resident of Steelville, Missouri and had accepted the Lord early in life. He attended Steelville High School and was a member of the Class of 1984 and played basketball.
    He joined the Army right out school where he received an honorable discharge and worked awhile in St. Louis, Missouri at Jemco Towing on the Mississippi River.  He spent most of his life working at various canoe rentals, such as Bass’, Birds Nest, Fagans, Indian Springs and The Rafting Co, flipping rafts and canoes or driving shuttles; he even worked doing that in the summers in high school. He last worked at Mary’s Valley Meat Processing.  Bo especially loved his dog, Roscoe.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Eugene Farrar Sr. and Dixie Lee (Parker) Farrar; and grandparents, Carol “Robin” (Verna) Farrar and Landis (Irene) Parker.
    He is survived by his daughter, Natasha Farrar of Rolla, Missouri; granddaughters, Ella, Mavis and Presley Bridgeman of Rolla, Missouri; sister, Cheryl Harris of Steelville, Missouri; brothers, Allen Farrar and Patrick Farrar, both of Sullivan, Missouri and Roger (Krystal) Farrar of Bentonville, Arkansas; aunt, Mildred “Mickey” Cooper; uncle, Junior (Barb) Parker of Steelville, Missouri; special friends, Kat Schroeder of Sunrise Beach, Missouri and Charlie Rhoads of Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
    Funeral service followed at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.
    Burial was at the Brown Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri with full military honors.
