Earnest Cleo Holland of Cuba, Missouri was born on Wednesday, August 22, 1928 in Ravenden, Arkansas to David Andrew Jackson and Lora May Emmons Holland and passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 8 days.
He married Laura Lola Bridgeman on May 19, 1951 in Pearidge, Missouri.
He served his country honorably in the Army during World War II and in the Navy during the Korean War.
He worked 30 years for West Asphalt Company, then 10 years at Complete Auto Transit where he retired from. He later started his own business of Ernie’s Driveway Sealer.
His church life was very important to him and he was an active member of Trinity Chapel, Leasburg, Missouri. He served as superintendent of the Sunday School for several years. Also, church song leader, treasurer and teacher of the teens and adults.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, planting fruit trees, gardening and playing his guitar especially bluegrass music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Lora May Holland; wife, Lola Holland; daughters, Janet Elaine Doyle and Charlotte Marie Pemberton; grandchild, Cassie Irene Lierla; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his children, Ronnie (Judy) Holland of Davisville, Missouri, Marvin (Wendy) Holland of Cuba, Missouri, Sandi (Richard) Martin of Steelville, Missouri, Tina Holland and Cleve (Kim) Holland, all of Cuba, Missouri; sister, Mary Ann Adair of Rockford, Illinois; 29 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Trinity Chapel in Leasburg, Missouri with Rev. Richard Martin officiating.
Burial was at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri with full military honors.
