John Derick “Ick” McCurry was born in Washington, Missouri on September 27, 1964 to Kenneth and Marilyn (Wehmeyer) McCurry and passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 at the age of 54 years, 3 months and 1 day.
“Ick” was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, watching Indy car racing and spending time with family. He was an over the road truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Kenneth McCurry; and step-dad, Walter Bruce Kinsley.
He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Kinsley of Rosebud, Missouri; three brothers, Doug McCurry and wife Tina, Darin McCurry, George McCurry and wife Sonia, all of Rosebud, Missouri; two sisters, Dana Shetley and husband Dave of Bourbon, Missouri and Lydia Gore and husband Aaron of Rosebud, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosebud, Missouri with Pastor Bill Liebmann officiating.
Burial was at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Rosebud, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri.
