The next Onondaga Friends Association meeting is Friday January 18 at 6 p.m. at the State Park Visitor Center. This will be their Annual Meeting and get together.
This is a great time for new volunteers and the community to come see what they are doing. Maria Potter, Superintendent of the Park will be the speaker and will discuss cave and park management and how the public and Friends can help. Some food, snacks, beverages will be available.
Onondaga Friends Association wants to encourage people to care about the Parks and the land set aside because it is an example of particular beauty and typifies the uniqueness of each particular area in the State. In Crawford County it is karst topography (caves, rivers, sinkholes, soft rock). The Meramec Valley region is one of the most biodiverse systems in the United States.
