Barbara Ruth Gilliam


    Barbara Ruth Gilliam (nee Worley) of Steelville, Missouri was born in Davisville, Missouri on July 19, 1931 to Floyd and Mildred Martin Worley and passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the age of 87 years.


    In May of 1948 at Steelville, Missouri she married Albert “Henry” Gilliam.
    Barbara worked for 20 years as a cook for Steelville schools and also as the bookkeeper for Gilliam Auto Sales. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Barbara always enjoyed baking for her family.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Gilliam; son, Roger Gilliam; great grandchildren, Garrett Manthey and Daniella Gilliam; sisters, Neville (Lee) Smith and Rosalee (Earl) Midyett; and sister-in-law, Judy Worley.
    She is survived by her son, William Henry “Billy” (Vicky) Gilliam of Steelville, Missouri; one daughter, Ruth Ann (Don) Booker of Salem, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Karen Ward of Rolla, Missouri; six grandchildren, Melissa (Bill) Manthey, Jim Booker, Lisa (Ronny) Weber, Daniel Gilliam, Mike Gilliam and Alisa (Federico) Artioli; 10 great grandchildren, Ryan Weber, Reese Weber, Cody Manthey, Autumn Manthey, Macy Manthey, Makenna Manthey, Savannah Manthey, Thomas Booker, Sam Booker and Mikayla Gilliam; four great great grandchildren, Lilli Wagner, Daci Wagner, Ryli Wagner and Sienna Santiago; one brother, Tom Worley of Cherryville, Missouri; sister, Betty (Ted) Krahling of Longmont, Colorado; other relatives; and friends.
    Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Britton- Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Alan Miles officiating. Special music of “Amazing Grace,” “Mama’s Hands” and a Medley of Heaven songs was sung by Carol and Bob Coleman.
    Committal prayer and interment were in the Sanders Cemetery, Huzzah, Missouri.
