Charles Leslie Holzschuh Jr. of Owensville, Missouri was born on March 8, 1928 to Charles Leslie Sr. and Sarah Eunice (Krause) Holzschuh and passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the age of 90 years.
He was married on April 5, 1951 to Delsea Jean Weller at Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Charles had served his country with the United States Army and the Merchant Marines. He enjoyed farming, working in his woodworking shop and watching John Wayne movies. He also loved being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Sarah Eunice Holzschuh; wife, Delsea Jean Holzschuh; and sisters, Willadeen Carpenter, Adelene White and Mary Jane Angell.
He is survived by his daughters, Melanie Kottwitz and husband George of Owensville, Missouri and Melissa Howard and husband William “Bill” of Rosebud, Missouri; sister, Adoree Brandt of Owensville, Missouri; brother, Carl Holzschuh and wife Margaret of St. James, Missouri; grandchildren, Joshua Kottwitz and wife Chandre of Pacific, Missouri, Heather Giles and husband Spencer of Robertsville, Missouri, Dakota Howard of Rosebud, Missouri and Clayton Howard of Berlin, Germany; great grandchildren, Logan and Lucy Giles and Charlize Kottwitz; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held form 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri.
Memorial services with full military honors were held at 11 at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating.
