Boys seeded fifth, girls sixth in district playoff bracket

The Cuba Wildcats have earned the #5 seed in the 2019 MSHSAA Class 3, District 4 basketball playoff tournament, while the Lady Wildcats have the #6 seed going into next week’s tourney. The tournament starts on Monday, February 18 and is being hosted by St. James High School.

Boys Bracket

After earning a key head-to-head victory over the Belle Tigers, the Cuba Wildcats found themselves with the #5 seed in the boys bracket. Cuba will play Bourbon (#4) on Tuesday, February 19 at 5:30 p.m. in the opening round.

Also on Tuesday, February 19, Steelville (#1) will play Grandview (#8) at 4 p.m., St. James (#2) takes on Belle (#7) at 7 p.m., and Dixon (#3) faces Kingston (#6) at 8:30 p.m.

Winners from the opening round of play will move on the second round of the bracket on Thursday, February 18. The winner of the Bourbon-Cuba game will take on the winner of the Steelville-Grandview game at 5:30 p.m. Winners from the St. James-Belle game and the Dixon-Kingston game will play at 7 p.m.

The boys championship round is scheduled for Saturday, February 23 at 7 p.m.

 

Girls Bracket

The Cuba Lady Wildcats have earned the #6 seed and will play Belle (#3) at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, February 18.

Other first-round games scheduled for that day include St. James (#1) taking on Bourbon (#8) at 4 p.m., Dixon (#4) taking on Grandview (#5) at 5:30 p.m., and Steelville (#2) going up against Kingston (#7) at 7 p.m.

The winner of the Belle-Cuba game will take on either Steelville or Kingston on Wednesday, February 20 at 7 p.m. Winners from the St. James-Bourbon game and the Dixon-Grandview match will square off on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

The girls championship round is scheduled for Friday, February 22 at 7 p.m.
