Crawford County Library District celebrates one-year anniversary

The Crawford County Library District is celebrating its one-year anniversary in March, and what a first year of growth it has been.

Last year, the county library district – with branches in Cuba, Steelville and Bourbon – went through a formal separation from the Ozark Regional Library System to form its own independent district funded entirely by county property taxes. The separation process was long and difficult, as the new district has spent its first year in hiring staff, cataloguing the entire system’s materials, adding new materials, creating new programs, expanding hours and services, and renovating the buildings. Much more is planned for the second year.
