Steelville High School will host a job fair next month, one that will be open to both high school students and to the general public. SHS Counselor Danielle Collins is currently seeking businesses who would like to participate in the event.
The job fair will be held on Tuesday, April 16, from 1:30 to 7 p.m. It will be open to students from 1:30 to 4 p.m., then to the community at large from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dinner will be provided to all business representatives.
The event will offer local businesses the opportunity to network with peers, expand community partnerships, collect applications or resumes, conduct on-the-spot interviews, and fill employment needs.
This is the first time the Steelville High School has hosted a job fair, and Collins noted it is a way to provide this service to both the businesses and to the community at large. She hopes to have both part-time or summer job positions represented, in addition to full-time, long-term positions.
