Thomas “Tom” Eddy Worley


    Thomas “Tom” Eddy Worley of Steelville, Missouri was born February 6, 1944 in Steelville, Missouri to Floyd and Mildred Martin Worley and passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019.  


    In June of 1963 he married Judy May Carr.
    Tom served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. He was employed as a union carpenter in St. Louis, Missouri for 36 years. He was also a member of the Steelville Country Club. Tom was a huge fan of NASCAR, enjoyed his farm as his hobby and fishing and shooting his guns.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mildred Worley; his wife of 53  years, Judy Worley; sisters, Barbara (Henry) Gilliam, Neville (Lee) Smith and Rosalee (Earl) Midyett; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Homer and Millie Carr; brothers-in-law, Tom Carr, Gary Dillingham and Gene Hogue; and sister-in-law, Lois Missey.
    He is survived by his seven children, Rachel (Bobby) Lyerla of St. Louis, Missouri, Rebekah (Tim) Manion of St. Clair, Missouri, Julie (Greg) Poncet of St. Louis, Missouri, Travis (Tracy) Worley of Steelville, Missouri, Carrie (Brook) Byrd of Leasburg, Missouri, Jaime (Billy) Missey of Steelville, Missouri and Kenneth Worley of Steelville, Missouri; sister, Betty (Ted) Krahling of Longmont, Colordado; sisters-in-law, Christine (Earl) Grubaugh, Nadine Hogue and Jane Dillingham, all of Steelville, Missouri and Sharon Carr of St. James, Missouri; brother-in-law, William (Jeannie) Carr of Sullivan, Missouri; 13 grandchildren, Baylee, Maggie, Samantha, Cody, Caleb, Katie (Tex), Charlie (David), Hunter, Kynnadee, Korbin, Brandon, Austin and Wil: three great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Natalee and Reagan; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Alan Miles officiating. Special music of “Daddy’s Hands” and “Things My Father Said” was played.
    Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Army.
    Casket bearers were Travis Worley, Kenneth Worley, Bobby Lyerla, Tom Manion, Greg Poncet and Brook Byrd.
