Rose Elaine Penner (nee Goertz) of Cook Station, Missouri was born on Sunday, October 3, 1954 in Goessel, Kansas to Richard Raymond and Lela Rose Hiebert Goertz and passed away on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the age of 64 years, 6 months and 18 days.
Rose graduated from Goessel High School in Kansas and attended Grace Bible Institute.
She married Jay Dean Penner on August 8, 1975 in Hesston, Kansas.
She attended Rolla Bible Church in Rolla, Missouri. Rose was a homemaker but she and her husband lived and have been very active at Whispering Winds Bible Camp in Cook Station, Missouri. She enjoyed to crochet, garden, read and cook among many other things.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lela Rose Goertz; parents-in-law, Jake (Florence) Penner; and sister-in-law Flora McKee.
She is survived by her husband, Jay Penner of Cook Station, Missouri; father, Richard Goertz of Cook Station, Missouri; children, Charlotte (Michael) Fritzius of St. Louis, Missouri, Melissa (Tim) Kornbau, Breanne Penner and Mattias (fiancée Janelle) Penner, all of Cook Station, Missouri; six grandchildren, Lorica, Amelia, Serena and Karisa Fritzius and Titus and Noah Kornbau; sisters, Carol (Keith) Kane of Big Sandy, Texas, Rachel (Peter) Hansen of Bellvue, Nebraska, Linda (Paul) Johnson of Branson, Missouri and Alan (Jody) Goertz of Underwood, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Al (Ruth) Penner and Mark (Beverly) McKee, both of Edna, Kansas; other relatives and friends.
Memorial service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Rolla Bible Church in Rolla, Missouri.
Rose was buried at the Morrison Cemetery in Cook Station, Missouri on Sunday, April 21, 2019.
