Karon “Sissy” Dixon of St. James, Missouri was born in Salem, Missouri on March 10, 1953 to Lawrence and Ruby (Camden) King and passed way on Monday, April 1, 2019 at the age of 66 years and 21 days.
She married Kenneth Dixon on March 28, 1975.
Sissy spent her entire career in the education field. She was a well liked and respected teacher in St. James, Missouri for many years. She also worked at the library and Boys and Girls Town.
Sissy was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, she dedicated two rooms of their home to St. Louis Cardinal memorabilia. Outdoors was another place to find Sissy. In her younger years she loved floating the Current River. The family would load up and go floating every weekend, in later years she wouldn’t get in a boat. Sissy raised goats, and loved her dogs.
She was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of St. James, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Ruby King; brother, Aaron King; and sister, Mary Ball.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kenneth Dixon of the home; daughter, Staci Wilson and husband Bryan of Jerome, Missouri; granddaughter, Taylir Wilson of Jerome, Missouri; great granddaughter, Emmi Heyer; brother-in-law, Pete Dixon of Eminence, Missouri; sister-in-law, Pat Barton of Rolla, Missouri; special niece, Cassey and husband Brad of Salem, Missouri; great niece, Azalea; other relatives and friends.
A celebration to honor her well lived life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Jerome, Missouri.
