Eula Lola Wofford Gray

    Eula Lola Wofford Gray of Salem, Missouri was born in Montauk, Missouri on October 18, 1922 to Lonnie and Fannie (Hubbs) Wofford and passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the age of 96 years.

    She married Lorse William Gray on August 6, 1940.
    They were married 49 years before his death in February of 1985.
    Eula was a member of the Upper Parker Community Church, and also attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
    Eula worked many years at International Shoe, later she worked as sewing instructor at Barad Lingerie for 27 years. She loved gardening, each spring was a time spent to plan and plant her garden, she carefully picked each row so that it could produce the food that her family needed for the long winter months.
    Eula enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She loved to sit outside and see the beautiful flowers that she had planted throughout the years and to see the cardinals that came each year to nest and feed in the little birdhouses she provided. She loved history and traveled throughout the 48 states.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Fannie Wofford; her husband, Lorse; son, Edgar Gray and wife Drusilla; brothers, Earnest, Utah (also known as Buck), Obe, Wayne, Guy and Cledith Wofford; granddaughter, Shelly Ann Gray; son-in-law, Dr. Thomas W. Wood Jr.; and step grandson, Tommy Wood.
    She is survived by her children, Gary Gray and wife Pamela of St. James, Missouri, Larry Gary and wife Cynthia of Salem, Missouri, Deloris Gray Wood of Salem, Missouri and Linda Smith and husband Johnny of Jefferson City, Missouri; grandchildren, Vicky, Edgar, Jennifer, William, Laura, Michael, Rachel, Josh and Jessie; step grandson, John Wood; sister, Marie Urban of Licking, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Betty Wofford of St. Charles, Missouri and Norma Gray Warden of Willard, Missouri; 17 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Salem Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary in Salem, Missouri.
    Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Salem Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary in Salem, Missouri with Pastor Jim Privett officiating.
    Internment was at the Green Forest Cemetery.
    Arrangements under the direction of the James & Gahr Mortuary in Salem, Missouri.
