Outdoors Night at Busch Stadium encourages folks to get outside and explore nature

The Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF) and the Conservation Federation of Missouri (CFM) are partnering together to sponsor Outdoors Night at Busch Stadium Monday, June 17 as the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Miami Marlins at 7:15 p.m. With the purchase of this special theme ticket, fans will take home a Cardinals fishing shirt, plus a portion of each ticket supports outdoor programs.

In honor of Outdoors Night, three conservation supporters will throw out the first pitch – Smokey Bear, Sara Parker Pauley and Kevin Roper. Smokey Bear turns 75 years this year and his message of “Only You Can Prevent Wildfires” is the longest-running public service campaign in American history. Pauley is the Director of the Missouri Department of Conservation. Roper is the Executive Director of the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation.

“We are thrilled to be in Cardinals’ Nation advocating for Missouri’s fish, forests and wildlife,” says Tricia Burkhardt, MCHF Director of Development and Social Media. “Missouri’s rich landscapes have something for everyone – hunting, hiking, birdwatching, camping, kayaking and fishing. Partnering with CFM means we get to reach more people and encourage them to get out and explore nature anyway they can.”

To show their continued support, Bass Pro Shops will be in the Budweiser Terrace with outdoor games for all ages to play. While in Budweiser Terrace to pick up your Cardinals’ fishing shirt, enter to win an Ascend 10T Sit-on-Top Fishing Kayak also donated by Bass Pro Shops.

“It’s great to bring our outdoors groups together to promote the magnificent conservation efforts that so many Missourians are extremely proud of,” said Tyler Schwartze, Executive Director of CFM. “Please make plans to join us at Busch Stadium to celebrate our outdoor heritage.”

Outdoors Night is made possible by the support of these five conservation co-sponsors: Wilkerson & Reynolds Wealth Management, Orscheln Farm & Home, Roeslein Alternative Energy, Moneta Group and MidwayUSA.

ABOUT MCHF
The Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1997 to advance conservation and appreciation of Missouri’s natural resources, including fish, forest and wildlife. MCHF works with donors and other conservation partners to financially support the mission and priorities of the Missouri Department of Conservation at the statewide, national and international level.

ABOUT CFM
The Conservation Federation of Missouri’s mission is to ensure conservation of Missouri’s wildlife and natural resources, and preservation of our state’s rich outdoor heritage through advocacy, education and partnerships.

The members of CFM are the conscience of hunters, fishermen, foresters, campers, trappers, hikers, paddlers, birdwatchers and more. CFM, a private nonprofit organization, speaks for sportsmen and sportswomen whenever and wherever it is necessary, to support our collective opinions on the future of Missouri outdoors. In fact, most of the conservation legislation in Missouri today exists, because of the federation’s strong advocacy work.
