Lance William Utech of Amsterdam, Missouri was born June 27, 1980 in Kansas City, Missouri to Garland and Dianna DeForest Utech and passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the age of 38 years, 11 months and 17 days.
He grew up in the Belton, Missouri area, attending school there until the tenth grade. After moving to the Amsterdam area, he graduated from Miami High School in 1998. Lance then attended Fort Scott Community College. Lance had a passion for the rodeo, especially bull riding and saddle broncs. He competed in the High School Rodeo and MoKan Rodeo, often times in the State Finals, and going to the national level twice.
Lance enjoyed fishing, good music, working on his truck, and trail rides and pheasant hunts with his dad.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He is survived by his parents, Garland and Dianna Utech of Amsterdam, Missouri; daughters, Alexandria Utech and Paige Utech, both of Amsterdam, Missouri; brother, Scott Utech of Steelville, Missouri; sister, Amy Utech of Freeman, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 1-2 p.m. at the Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel Chapel in Drexel, Missouri.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. on June 8, 2019 at the Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel, Missouri.
Cremation was to follow after the service.
