Mary Joanne Rodgers of Sullivan, Missouri was born June 4, 1931 in Cuba, Missouri to Russell and Helen Guion (Myers) and passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at the age of 88 years.
She grew up and attended school in various places in Missouri. Joanne graduated from Sullivan High School in 1949 and got married to Jimmie Dace later that year.
They lived in Sullivan, Missouri Joanne worked at Ramsey Corporation then eventually the Bank of Sullivan. She also was a member of the Sullivan Hospital Auxiliary.
On August 7, 1993, Joanne married Don Rodgers.
Joanne spent her free time loving on her dogs, fishing, crocheting, playing bingo and pinochle and line dancing.
After Don and Joanne’s retirement in 1995, together they enjoyed many years of travelling.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmie Dace; and her parents, Russell and Helen Guion.
She is survived by her husband, Don Rodgers; three children, Larry Dace and wife Brenda of Sullivan, Missouri, Douglas Rodgers and wife Michele of Davenport, Florida, and Karen Ryan of Sullivan, Missouri; six grandchildren, Stacey Lanigan of Sullivan, Missouri, Nicole Lanigan of Camdenton, Missouri, Jenna Ryan of Seattle, Washington, Mary Ryan of Honolulu, Hawaii, Samantha Rodgers of Tokyo, Japan and Brendan Rodgers of Sullivan, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Kaleb White and Remi Bruning, both of Sullivan, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Donna Schofield-Dolle and Rev. Jimmie Ray Dace officiating.
Burial followed at the I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery in Sullivan, Missouri.
