Larry “Scott” Smith of Bourbon, Missouri was born July 1, 1978 in Landstuhl, Germany to Larry Ray and Sharon Ann Smith and passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the age of 40 years, 11 months and 16 days.
Scott attended the Nazarene Church in Bourbon, Missouri when he was younger.
During his middle school years, he played football and played the trombone in band. He graduated from Bourbon High School in 1996.
Scott was a fireman for the Sullivan Firehouse at one time. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours deer and turkey hunting, fishing and gigging in his spare time. He was known to his family as a great barbecuer and smoker of meats when it was time for dinner. Scott loved his Boxer, Charlotte.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Ann Smith; and his grandparents, Harold and Ella Smith.
He is survived by his children, Lukas Scott Smith and Ella Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; father, Larry Ray (Charisse) Smith of Bourbon, Missouri; sister, Gina Marie Smith of Gerald, Missouri; and paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Eula Smith of Washington, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Richie Dement officiating. Special music of “Free Bird,” “Comfortably Numb” and “Behind Blue Eyes” was sung.
The family chose cremation as the final disposition.
