Leland Jerod Nathanial Coombs of Steelville, Missouri was born December 29, 1995 in Rolla, Missouri to Leland “Bubba” Coombs Jr. and Marlenea Volner Coombs and passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the age of 23 years, 5 months and 24 days.
He had been employed at Ozark Outdoors. Leland had attended First Assembly of God Church in Steelville, Missouri. He loved fishing, hunting, floating, playing music and his dog, Willow.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gloria Coombs and Leland “L.D” Coombs; and great grandfather, Kenneth Volner Sr.
He is survived by his parents, Marlenea Coombs of Steelville, Missouri and Leland “Bubba” Coombs Jr. of Steelville; brother, Ethan Coombs and sister, Haylee (T.J. Hoke) Coombs, all of Steelville, Missouri; grandparents, Darlene and Mike Retkowski of Steelville, Missouri and Bobby Link Sr. of Cuba, Missouri; great grandmothers, Mabel Martin Volner of Steelville, Missouri and Eva Coombs of Naples, Florida; aunts, Angela (Tony) Kaltenbach of Steelville, Missouri, Lisa (Randy) Graham of Naples, Florida, Trishia (Adam Parrett) Emrick of St. James, Missouri and BA Nichole (Adam) Gwalthey of Bourbon, Missouri; uncle, Bobby Link Jr. of Steelville, Missouri; great aunt, Lois Carden of Steelville, Missouri; his dog, Willow; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Special music of “RX,” “Fishing in the Sky,” “Wake Up,” “Why” and “Dancing in the Sky” was played. Special memories were shared by family and friends.
The family chose cremation as the final disposition.
