James Edward Summers of Bourbon, Missouri was born on February 6, 1949 in Berryman, Missouri to Charles Samuel and Dorothy “Geraldine” Bouse and passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the age of 70 years.
James married Kathleen Dunn on August 17, 1968 at First Baptist Church of Bourbon, Missouri. They were able to celebrate 50 years of marriage together.
James was employed as a bridge inspector for MoDOT. He enjoyed collecting coins, arrowhead hunting, guns and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Summers; mother, Geraldine Reiner and her husband William.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Summers of Bourbon, Missouri; three children, Michael Summers and wife Kristina of Tampa, Florida, Laurie Boyer and husband James of Bourbon, Missouri and Rachel Licklider and husband Lance of Bourbon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Lane Licklider of Bourbon, Missouri, Krista Licklider of Bourbon, Missouri, Terrina, Jayson, Dalton and Nicholas Summers, all of Tampa, Florida; two sisters, Judy Dunn and husband Pat of Rolla, Missouri and Sharon Missey and husband Austin of Trumann, Arkansas; one brother, Stan Reiner and wife Meg of Farmington, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Bourbon, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Bourbon, Missouri.
