“Explosion of Cool Content,” an exhibition of abstract art, will be on display at the Steelville Arts Council’s Gallery Zeke during the month of August.
Abstract art was a trend in painting and sculpture in the 20th century. As an art form, abstract art does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, form, colors, line, and textures. Simply put, abstract art strays far from the notion of representing real-world objects in art. Different artists create their compositions independently from visual references.
Some of these wonderfully unique art works will be on display from August 1 to 24. There will be a reception on Saturday August 3, from 1 to 4 p.m., for patrons to meet and greet the artists of this exhibit.
The exhibit will be open to the public Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Gallery Zeke is located at 106 Main Street in Steelville.
The Steelville Arts Council was created in 2010 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Its mission is to promote arts in the community through awareness, appreciation, education and support; creating a connection between artists and audiences to enrich the quality of life for all.
