Imogene Vaughn (nee Dugan) of Cuba, Missouri was born in Marshfield, Missouri on Saturday, November 7, 1931 to Joe and Ester (Bennett) Dugan and passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 16 days.
In her young teen years Imogene worked as a waitress at Midway Restaurant in Cuba, Missouri. It was there, when she was 15 years old, she met the man who would later become her husband. On December 31, 1949 in Steelville, Missouri she married Wilbur Jewel Vaughn.
Imogene accepted the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church, Cuba, Missouri.
She later worked until retirement in housekeeping for the Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri. She volunteered her time at the Crawford County Historical Museum and also the Food Pantry, both in Cuba, Missouri. In her spare time she liked to read and work crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ester Dugan; parents-in-law, Henry and Myrtle Vaughn; husband, Wilbur Jewel Vaughn; son, Bryan Vaughn; brothers, Eugene Dugan and Alfred (Linda) Dugan; sister, Dorothy (Granville) Andrews; brothers-in-law, Floyd Vaughn, Lloyd Vaughn, Everett Vaughn, Earl (Ruth) Vaughn, Noel (Eilene) Vaughn and Elmer Vaughn; and sister-in-law, May Vaughn.
She is survived by her son, Roger (Margarete) Vaughn of Owensville, Missouri; daughters, Julie Ann (David) Darmon of Ballwin, Missouri and Charlene (Conrad) Percival of Rosebud, Missouri; grandchildren, David (Andrea) Darmon Jr. of Wildwood, Missouri, Joseph Patrick (Sarah) Darmon of Fenton, Missouri, Ginger O’Hara of Washington, Missouri and Tina (Patrick) Heidbrink of Rosebud, Missouri; great grandchildren, Brayden Darmon and Reid Darmon, both of Wildwood, Missouri, Andrew Heidbrink of Rosebud, Missouri and Adalee Heidbrink of Rosebud, Missouri; sister, Carol (Stanley) Berry of Springfield, Missouri; brother-in-law, Charles (Helen) Vaughn of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Jim Moore officiating.
Burial at the Roberts Cemetery in Salem, Missouri.
