Operation Christmas Child spokesperson will talk about receiving shoebox as a child

People in the area have a wonderful opportunity to hear firsthand a wonderful speaker talking about her receipt of a shoebox as a child!
Elena Nicholson was eight years old when she and her sister were moved from an abusive poverty-stricken home into an orphanage in the former Soviet Union.

At the time when she was feeling unloved, she was handed an Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. It was the first gift she had ever received.
With the gift, Nicholson received a booklet, which seemed like an unbelievable fairytale. It said the Creator of the universe loved her. She began to pray, hopeful for a family for her and her sister, a prayer that was answered in 2004 by a loving family in the United States.
On August 25, Elena Nicholson will be sharing her story as the Operation Christmas Child spokesperson at the following locations:
    • 8:15 a.m. – First Baptist Church, Owensville
    • 10:30 a.m. – First Baptist Church, Belle
    • 2 p.m. – First Baptist Church, Hermann
    • 5:30 p.m. – First Baptist Church, St. James
Following the presentation at First Baptist in Hermann, there will be project leader’s workshops.
Following the presentation at First Baptist in St. James, there will be a shoebox packing party, workshop displays and ice cream!
Come and hear this amazing young lady’s story!
