Trailblazers rodeo is Sept. 6-7

It’s rodeo time again! Rain or shine, the annual Ozark Trailblazers Rodeo will be held during Harvest Festival in Steelville next week.

Rodeo events will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, September 6-7. The Ozark Trailblazers Arena is located four miles south of Steelville on Highway 19 South. Advance tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for children ages six to 12, and free for those ages five and under. At the gate, ticket prices increase by $2 and are $10 for adults, $8 for children ages six to 12, but are still free for those five and under.

Rodeo events will include bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping, cowgirls barrel racing, bull riding, breakaway roping, and over-40 calf roping. There will also be a calf scramble for children ages five to 10.

Outlaw Rodeo Productions/ 5J Rodeo Company will produce the Steelville Rodeo. Entertainment will be provided by International Rodeo Entertainer Whistle-Nut and Ole.

Prior to the main rodeo events, mutton busting will take place at 7 p.m. each night for children ages seven and under. This event is limited to the first 15 children registered each night. Registration begins at 6 p.m. at the arena.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the following locations: Flint’s Country Store, Randy’s Tire & Auto, Mobil On the Run, and Shelter Insurance in Steelville; at Bowers & Cottrells General Store in Cherryville; at Jim’s Motors in Cuba; and at First Community National Bank or Peoples Bank in Cuba or Steelville.
