Harvest Festival 2019 promises fun for all

Harvest Festival 2019 is next week! Steelville’s annual fall festival will kick off events on Tuesday, September 3, and daily activities will be offered through Sunday, September 8. The theme for this year’s festival is “Once Upon a Dream,” and the Steelville Area Chamber of Commerce and other local organizations sponsor a range of events during the festival.


Tuesday will feature all sorts of activities on Main Street, in addition to the opportunity to view a quilt show and donate blood.

The Show-Me Quilt Show, sponsored by the Steelville Arts Council, will feature a variety of custom quilts. The show will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., September 1 to 7, at Gallery Zeke on Main Street. Admission is free.

From 4 to 7:30 p.m., the 10th Annual Car Show, sponsored by Steelville High School FBLA, will be held near the courthouse. There is an entry fee of $15 per car, with proceeds to benefit FBLA. Pulled pork sandwiches and other delicious treats will be served, too. To register a vehicle in the show, contact Lana Mabe at 775-2144.

Steelville Schools Family Night on Main Street will provide an evening of old-fashioned fun. Also held from 4 to 7:30 p.m., this event offers games, activities and food, including cotton candy, kettle corn, face painting, a bouncy house, and more. Wednesday offers food and music for the community.

Golden Echoes Senior Center will host a benefit spaghetti and chicken fettucine buffet dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. This all-you-can-eat meal costs $7.50 for adults, $3.50 for kids ages six to 12, and is free for those five and under. There will also be a quilt and silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the Golden Echoes Senior Nutrition Program.

The Community Gospel Sing will begin at 7 p.m. at the Meramec Music Theatre. A love offering for the Steelville Ministerial Alliance will be collected at the event. This is a Chamber-sponsored evening.



Thursday provides the opportunity to see the 2019 Harvest Festival Queen crowned. The chamber’s annual pageant will be held at the Meramec Music Theatre at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door, with children ages three and under free.



Friday will offer more food and the first of two nights of rodeo action.

The Steelville Chamber BBQ provides a choice of chicken or pork steak dinners for lunch (beginning at 11 a.m.). The Ozark Trailblazers Rodeo will be held at the arena located on Highway 19 South. It begins at 8 p.m. each night on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are available at area businesses or by calling 775-5111.



Saturday offers activities all day long, from a morning market to more rodeo action at night, and the parade in between.

Early risers can check out the Ozark Connect Farmer and Artist Market beginning at 7 a.m. The morning market is located on the corner of 4thand Main Streets.

A 5K Run/Walk for Missions will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Steelville Community Park. This event is sponsored by Center Point Baptist Church. Contact Ruth Diaz at 573-465-4411 or Blake Haffer at 573-263-0081 for more information.

The second night of the rodeo at the Ozark Trailblazers Arena kicks off at 8 p.m.



Harvest Festival 2019 will conclude with a community-wide church service at 6 p.m. in the Community Park. Hosted by the Steelville Ministerial Alliance, the message will be presented by Rev. Rick Haggitt.
