Impact 100 Crawford County looks to continue growing its membership

Impact 100 Crawford County was established in 2017. The women are getting ready for their 3rd Annual Event this September, at which time they will be giving grants to local 501C3 nonprofits in Crawford County. The annual dinner and grant awards presentation takes place at Recklein Auditorium on Thursday, September 26.

In Impact 100’s first year, they had 54 members and gave back to the community $27,000 in grant awards. Last year, the group had grown to 59 members and gave back $29,500. They have a goal of recruiting at least 70 members this year, and that would give them $35,000 to grant back to Crawford County’s nonprofits.

“It is so exciting,” said Kathy Lasley, who has helped to spearhead Impact 100’s efforts. “This group of women is helping our local nonprofits complete projects that perhaps they would not have been able to complete. What is also exciting to the members is that they make the decisions as to who receives the grants. The members vote at the annual meeting and witness the check presentations that night to the nonprofits. Previous grant recipients also attend this annual meeting and express their gratitude and explain to the group exactly how their grant money was spent.”

If anyone would like to become a member, there are several ways to join: 1) write a tax-deductible check for $500 made out to Impact 100 Crawford County, 2) find a partner and each of you write a tax-deductible check for $250 (the two will become equivalent to one membership and receive one vote at the annual meeting), or 3) have a company sponsor write a tax-deductible check for $500.
