Kenneth Milton Moreland


    Kenneth Milton Moreland of Vienna, Missouri was born on August 16, 1927 at Vichy, Missouri to William Elmer and Gladys Mae (Cook) Moreland, and passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 20 days.


    He married Rachel Margaret Thebeau on September 1, 1951 in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
    On August 12, 1952 at St. Louis, Missouri joined the Army and served until August 4, 1954 when he was honorably discharged at Camp Carson, Colorado, at the rank of Corporal (CPL T).
    During his military career, he had successfully completed training courses at the Engineer School, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, for the use of camouflage in combat tactics and was awarded and entitled to wear the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star, the United Nations Service Medal with two Overseas Bars, the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation and the Good Conduct Medal.  
    During most of his working life, he had been employed as a truck driver for Cassens Auto Transport Company, St. Louis, Missouri for 32 years, prior to his first retirement.  
    Kenneth and Rachel lived on their farm near St. James, Missouri before they purchased the James Resort, on the Gasconade River, near Vienna, Missouri in 1980, which they operated as Morelands Resort and Catfish Restaurant until their final retirement.  
    He was a member of the Coffey Brothers Memorial American Legion Post 12, Vienna, Missouri for more than 28 years and was a life member of the American Legion.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel; daughter, Shirley Mae DiNatale; son, James Michael Boyster; grandchildren, Taylor Marie Moreland and Rob Boyster; great grandchild, T.J. Hayes; brother, Robert “Bob” Moreland; and brother-in-law, Julius “June” Feeler.
    He is survived by sons, Leslie “Les” Moreland and wife Ginger and Robin Moreland, all of Vienna, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Kelly, Sheri, Gail, Tobias, Kaden, Kayci, Doug, Joe, Tracee and Courtney; 17 great grandchildren, Dustin, Russell, Kara, Lana, Kelsey, Cherie, Heather, Derrick, Joey, Tony, David, Wesley, Josiah, Jay, Emily, Lyndsey and Katelyn; 10 great great grandchildren, Harper, Liam, Layla, Ahri, Easton, Teagan, Adelynn,  Koralynn, Maebri and Brennen; siblings, Bernice Jones and husband Wally of Rolla, Missouri, Wayne Moreland and wife Joy of Savage, Minnesota, William “Bill” Moreland and wife Iris of Wesco, Missouri, Jim Moreland and wife Helen of Vienna, Missouri, Margaret Feeler of Rolla, Missouri, Janet Roach and husband Bob of Rolla, Missouri and Don Moreland and wife Stephanie of Tipp City, Ohio; sister-in-law, Glenda Davis of St. James, Missouri; other relatives and friends.  
    Visitation as held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 and from 9-10 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2019, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2019 in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Vienna, Missouri  with Pastor David Godat, Mercy Ministries of St. Clair, officiating.  Music for the service was “I Can Only Imagine,” “How Great Is Our God,” and “God, You Reign.”
    Interment was in the James Community Cemetery, near Vienna, Missouri.
    Pallbearers were Joey DiNatale, Kelly Boyster, Jeff Hayes, Jim Godat, Derrick DiNatale, Tobias Moreland, Kaden Moreland, Aaron Cohlmia, Dustin Boyster and Russell Boyster. Honorary pallbearers were Doug DiNatale, Joe DiNatale, Easton Blair, Teagan James, Chad James, Tony Dinatale, Liam Cohlmia, Brennen Prenger, Tony Lanning, Casey Blair and Ben Turnbough.
