Peoples Bank is celebrating 30 years in the Steelville community this month. To mark the occasion, the bank is having an anniversary celebration on October 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its Steelville branch. The community is invited to stop by the Steelville branch and enjoy cake and punch.
The bank is having weekly giveaways every Friday throughout October. People can enter to win by liking or sharing the bank’s Facebook anniversary posts or by visiting the Steelville branch. People have until October 30th to enter for their chance to win the $250 cash prize. Steelville Senior Vice President Tim Mullen said the bank will draw the Grand Prize Giveaway winner during the celebration.
“We wanted to do something special to mark our 30th anniversary in our Steelville location and also show Peoples Bank’s continued commitment to this community,” said Mullen. “A lot has changed over the years,
but our foundation of having good local people that are seen as resources to the community has continued over that time.”
In 1985, Peoples Bank opened its loan production office and walk-up teller station in Steelville. Due to its tremendous success, four years later the bank opened its new bank building. At that time, they helped coordinate the restoration of downtown Steelville, offering $500,000 in financing to businesses for the improvement of building exteriors. The efforts resulted in 27 merchants participating which brought new life to downtown Steelville.
Founded in 1901, Peoples Bank is one of the largest locally-owned banks in Crawford and Franklin Counties. With full service offices in Cuba, Bourbon, Steelville, and Sullivan, Peoples Bank has a long history of delivering premium banking products and services to local consumer and small business customers throughout Missouri.
