Jolly Ansel Watson


    Jolly Ansel Watson of Rolla, Missouri was born April 24, 1938 in Gladden, Missouri to George and Flossie Terrill Watson and passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 27 days.


    On March 10, 1958 in Timber, Missouri, Jolly married Joy Piatt.
    Jolly was a self-employed logger for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Flossie Watson; his wife, Joy Watson; one daughter, Pam Glore; two sisters, Imo (Elmo) Dooley and Iretta Yelton; four brothers, Ondo (Mildread) Watson, Elva (Elmo) Watson, Lovel Watson and infant, Thurman Watson; great grandchild, Skyler Glore; and sisters-in-law, Mildred Watson and Dormilee Watson.
    He is survived by two sons, Phillip (Connie) Watson of Versailles, Missouri and Paul (Patty) Watson of Cuba, Missouri; daughter, Jamie (Mikal) Piva of Rolla, Missouri; son-in-law, Albert Glore III of Steelville, Missouri; three brothers, Ronnie (Sue) Watson of Williamsburg, Missouri, Buren (Ellien) Watson of Pekin, Illinois and Vernell Watson of Gladden, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Lomagene Watson of McKittrick, Missouri and Norma Jean Watson of Summersville, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Tammy (Bruce) Volner, Matthew (Elizabeth) Watson, Kevin (Jennifer) Glore, Kayla Glore, Cody Watson, Casey (Michael) Montgomery, Cheynne Howard, Connor Howard and Cassidy Howard; 11 great grandchildren, Riley Brown, Megan Volner, Camron Volner, Sarah Archambault, Christian Watson, Lyric Glore, Liberty Glore, Emelia Glore, Kaylee Piersall, Brayden Watson and Hadley Montgomery; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Eddie Jones officiating.
    Casket bearers were Albert Glore, Kevin Glore, Matt Watson, Cody Watson, Michael Montgomery and Bruce Volner.
    Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery.
    Arrangements under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
