John “Glendon” Price Klossner

    John “Glendon” Price Klossner was born September 20, 1930 at Safe, Missouri to John Austin and Anna Elizabeth Mosher Klossner and passed away on October 20, 2019 at the age of 89 years.

    He married Kathleen Savory on Sepember 25, 1954 at the First Church of God in St. James, Missouri.
    He attended Wash School in Safe, Missouri and graduated from John F. Hodge in St. James, Missouri.
    He enlisted in the United States Air Force September 8, 1950 and achieved the rank of staff sergeant. He served his country as an aircraft and engine mechanic during the Korean War and was honorably discharged September 7, 1954. It was during his station in Lakenheath Airforce base in England he met Kathleen.
    Glendon believed in the value of hard work and in serving his community. He was one of the original creators of the St. James Ambulance District and sat on the ambulance board for more than 30 years. He served as a Phelps County Commissioner for 14years, the St. James Board of Education for six years and the Safe Fair Board. He also spent many years on the sidelines and in the dugout as a youth sports basketball and baseball coach.
    A sought after John Deere mechanic, Glendon loved to fix things. He also enjoyed auctioneering, putting up hay and working on the farm that has been in the Klossner family for more than 100 years. His land was distinguished as a century farm in 2016. When Glendon wasn’t working, he could often be found hunting for pheasants or flying planes.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Klossner; brother, Wendell; and son, John Randy.
    He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathleen Savory Klossner; children, Kevin and Crissy Klossner, Karen and Mark Davis, Kim and Gary Shockley, all of St. James, Missouri and Gary and Shelley Klossner of Rolla, Missouri; sister, Virginia McIntosh of St. James, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, John Devin Klossner, Jason Davis, Victoria Abel, Ryan Shockley, Chad Shockley, Jacob Shockley, Kory Klossner, Kayla Thompson, Carson Klossner, Blaize Klossner, Gage Klossner and Brystol Klossner; 14 great grandchildren, Eli Davis, Nobel Davis, Judah Davis, Ezra Davis, Landri Abel, Harrison Abel, Ava Shockley, Gatlin Shockley, Isla Shockley, Surber Thompson, Forbes Thompson, Kennedy Klossner, Jace Klossner and Blaton Klossner; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 3:30-8 p.m. on Wednesday October 23, 2019 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 24th, 2019 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Keith Klossner and Don Carson officiating.
    Pallbearers were Kevin Klossner, Gary Klossner, Devin Klossner, Ryan Shockley, Kory Klossner, Jason Davis, Chad Shockley and Jake Shockley. Honorary pallbearers were Blaize Klossner, Gage Klossner and Carson Klossner.
    Burial was in the family plot at the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Arrangements under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
