Ronald “Ron” Dean McKay


    Ronald “Ron” Dean McKay of Sullivan, Missouri was born May 17, 1948 to George Edwin and Virginia Elizabeth (Marsh) McKay and passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the age of 71 years.


    He graduated from Sullivan High School, Class of 1966.
    Ron began his working career at Ramsey in Sullivan, Missouri.
    He was drafted into the United States Army on September 25, 1969 and served our country proudly during the Vietnam War.
    After his military service he completed his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and became the Sullivan High School Vocational Agriculture teacher.
    He married Juanita Joyce Lueken on August 30, 1975.
    He later worked for the MFA Fertilizer Plant in St. Clair, Missouri and lastly began a career at the Sullivan Post Office as a postal clerk where he retired in 2010 after 25 years of service.
    Ron was a great man of faith who came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior at a young age and as a public profession of his faith was baptized on April 28, 1959 at First Baptist Church, Sullivan Missouri.
    Ron was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church where he loved and served the Lord through his church. He served on several committees with his focus on missions, building funds, and building maintenance.
    He enjoyed all things outdoors. He loved watching and feeding his deer in the field, hunting for that 10-point buck, cutting down trees, clearing brush, keeping an immaculate yard and gardening.
    He was preceded in death by his father, George; mother, Virginia; step father, Ralph Marsh; step sister, Chleo Ruwwe; parents-in-law, Adolph and Jessie Lueken; brothers-in-law, Joe Lueken and Robert Lueken; and sister-in-law, Anna Belle Bouse.
    He is survived by his wife, Juanita of Sullivan, Missouri; daughters, Amanda McKay of Springfield, Missouri and Leslie McKay of St. Peters, Missouri; brother, Darrell (Janet) McKay of High Ridge, Missouri; brothers-in-law, Don Ruwwe of Bourbon, Missouri, Roger Bouse of Sullivan, Missouri, George (Carol) Lueken of Sullivan, Missouri, Gene (Jean) Lueken of Sullivan, Missouri and Virgil (Kim) Lueken of Union, Missouri; sister-in-law, Ginger Lueken of Madison, Missouri and  Edna Mae (Bob) Berti of Sullivan, Missouri;  other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Sullivan, Misosuri with Pastor Chester Lahmann officiating.
    Burial followed in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery in Sullivan, Missouri.
