Melynda Faye Aden of Sullivan, Missouri was born August 17, 1976 in Washington, Missouri to Larry and Bandy (Holt) Hopwood. passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at the age of 43 years.
She grew up and attended school in various places, including Bourbon, Missouri, Hawaii and Kentucky.
Melynda graduated from Fort Knox High School in 1994.
She was mother to her two children, Kevin and Kendrianna.
Melynda obtained her Associates Degree in Medical Assisting from Metro Business College in Rolla, Missouri. She lived and worked in the Bourbon and Sullivan, Missouri area for most of her life. Over the years, she was employed at McDonald’s, Walmart and most recently, manager at Dollar General in Sullivan, Missouri.
In 2016 Melynda became ill and was diagnosed with kidney disease and fought a tough battle through the past few years.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, playing boardgames, doing her nails and hanging out with friends. She was also fond of owls, dragon flies and music. Melynda was known for her sarcastic sense of humor. She will be missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Hopwood; and her grandparents, Ken and Betty Holt and Herbert and Virginia Hopwood.
She is survived by her children, Kevin Aden and wife Anna and Kendrianna Levi, all of Sullivan, Missouri; granddaughter, Madelynn Aden; mother, Bandy Holt and husband Kevin Witt of Sullivan, Missouri; two sisters, Melissa Downing and companion Steven Haley Jr. of Sullivan, Missouri and Michelle Hopwood and wife Carrie Jones of Kentucky; dear friend, Alisa Garner of Sullivan, Missouri; her dog, Tucker; other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Gathering was held 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
