Alberta “Diann” Bocardo (nee Brooks) of Cuba, Missouri was born February 6, 1947 in St. Clair, Missouri to Edward and Ellie Head Brooks and passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 4 days.
Diann was employed as a bookkeeper at Gambles and later at Brown Shoe several years ago. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ellie Brooks; one daughter, Debbie Laws-Jones; one grandson, Chad Bocardo; three brothers, Johnny, Kelly and Thomas Brooks; and one sister, Betty Pyatt.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Schoen of St. Louis, Missouri and Michele (Scott) Messex of Cuba, Missouri; four brothers, Ronnie (Debbie) Brooks of Cherryville, Missouri, Bobby (Leona) Brooks of Salem, Missouri, Larry (Tammy) Brooks of Steelville, Missouri and Barry (Angie) Brooks of Viburnum, Missouri; one sister, Jessie Ziegler of St. Clair, Missouri; sister-in-law, Darla Brooks of Kennett, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Ronald Pyatt of Davisville, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Special music of “Go Rest High” was sung by Bob and Carol Coleman. Other music of “When You Say Nothing at All” was also played.
The family chose cremation as the final disposition.
