Melissa Ann Stricklin of Leasburg, Missouri was born December 21, 1982 in Rolla, Missouri to Ronnie Stricklin and Carol Stanislaus (nee Green) and passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019 in an accident at the age of 36 years, 11 months and 17 days.
Melissa had been employed at Paramount in Bourbon, Missouri and at Meramec Shoe Factory in Sullivan, Missouri previously. She was always a dog lover and enjoyed her last two pets, Cujo and Sunny.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kenneth and Doris Green Wilkinson and Lawrence and Rosie Stricklin; and her dog Conner.
She is survived by her children, Issac, Kadin, Kyle and Adrian; companion, Joey Schmidt of Steelville, Missouri; her parents, Ronnie Stricklin of Edgar Springs, Missouri and Carol (Jerry) Stanislaus of Leasburg, Missouri; one brother, Scotty Stricklin and companion, Brandi Brimer of St. James, Missouri; and step brother, George Stanislaus of St. Elizabeth, Missouri; one uncle Bobbie Green of Steelville, Missouri; one aunt, Lynn Carrick of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Mick Thrasher officiating. Special music of “The Dance,” “I Want to Stroll Over Heaven with You” and “Sissy’s Song” was played.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Freeman Cemetery, Cherryville, Missouri. Casket bearers were Jerry Stanilaus, George Stanilaus, Scotty Stricklin, Joey Schmidt, Ricky Schmidt Sr., Ricky Schmidt Jr. and Luke Carrick.
