James Lee Campbell


    James Lee Campbell of Chamois, Missouri, formerly of Rolla, Missouri, was born March 6, 1952 in Rolla, Missouri to William Ernest and Frieda May Kidwell Campbell and passed away on January 16, 2020 at the age of 67 years.


    On November 6, 1976 in Rolla, Missouri he married Janet Marie Brock.
    He worked in the building trade industry, help building and remodeling homes and projects throughout the mid Missouri area.
    James served his country in the United State Army and was stationed in Fort Dix New Jersey. He received an honorable discharge in 1973. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Sharp Shooter M16 and awarded Expert Grenade Medal.
    He is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Christopher Allen Campbell and wife Michelle Campbell of Belle, Missouri and James Ernest Campbell of Chamois, Missouri; daughters, Julie Walls and husband Josh of Chamois, Missouri and Alicia Pryor and husband Shane of Bourbon, Missouri; brothers Lonnie Campbell and wife Tammy of St. James, Missouri and Robert Ferrell of Rolla, Missouri; sisters, Tammy Bunton and husband Eugene of St James, Missouri, Amanda Grable and husband Bill of St. James, Missouri and Sylvia Gandy and husband Chester of Eldon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Shay-Lea, Justin, Trey, Jessica, Jessie, Matthew, Lexy-Ann Lee, and Phoenix; great grandchildren, Hunter, Jaxston, Judd and Sawyer; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from  1-2 p.m. on Thursday January 23, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday January 23, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Kirk Kellog officiating. Songs were, “Jealous of the Angels”, “Memories” by Elvis, “Grandpa’s Never Die” and “Even Tho I’m Leaving” were played for the service.
    Flag Line was provided by the South Central Patriot Guard. Full military honors were provided at the Jones Funeral Home following the funeral.
