Richard Stanley King Sr.


    Richard Stanley King Sr. of Sullivan, Misosuri was born on March 27, 1947 in Leasburg, Missouri to Dock Walton and Nannie Jemimah (Ray) King and passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the age of 72 years.


    He attended grade school in Leasburg, Missouri and high school in Bourbon, Missouri graduating with the class of 1966.
    Just out of high school, Richard was employed by Steelweld Equipment in St. Clair, Missouri.
    He honorably served his country in the United States Army with the 90th Replacement Battalion in Vietnam.
    In 1973, Richard went to work for the Chrysler Corporation and remained there for 31 years, retiring in 2004.
    After retirement, Richard and Becky enjoyed traveling and spending time together. First and foremost, he was a man of God.
    Richard was a member of Full Gospel Assembly of God in Sullivan, Missouri and served as a Deacon, as well as many other areas of the church. Outside of church, Richard’s hobbies included hunting and fishing, working in his yard, going to yard sales and spending time with his family. He was a jokester who loved to laugh and have a good time.
    He was preceded in death by his son, Richard King Jr.; parents, Dock and Nannie King; and one brother, Melbourne King.
    He is survived by his wife, Rebecca King of Sullivan, Missouri; three children, Teri Graham and husband Brian of Sullivan, Missouri, Paul King and wife Sandra of Bourbon, Missouri and Susan King of Branson, Missouri; four grandchildren, Isaiah Graham, Emma Graham, Asher King and Solomon King; one step grandchild, Chase Graham; two step great grandchildren, Jaden and Isabelle; six brothers, Jerry King and wife Joan of Bourbon, Missouri, James King of Leasburg, Missouri, Bud King and wife Terry of Bourbon, Missouri, William King and wife Cindy of Cuba, Missouri, Bruce King and wife Julie of Leasburg, Missouri and Brent King and wife Denice of Leasburg, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from  4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Full Gospel Assembly of God in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Ryan Martin officiating.
    Interment followed in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery in Sullivan, Missouri.
