Senior Beta Club makes 15 blankets for senior citizens

The Saint James Beta Club, a group of students at the high school that focus on leadership and community service, recently held a blanket drive. Senior Beta’s motto is “Let Us Lead By Serving Others” and that’s exactly what they did.

Over the week of February 6, Senior Beta members took a few days to participate in the blanket drive during Tiger Time. The club works hard to complete at least one service project a month. During January they worked with Nancy Montgomery, director of the St. James Caring Center, to help put together lap blankets for senior citizens who are homebound. As a result, 15 blankets were successfully made and donated.

Because Senior Beta aims to complete service projects each month, their next project will be Operation Gratitude. This organization works to send over 250,000 Care Packages to Veterans, Deployed Troops, New Recruits, and also First Responders. Senior Beta plans to contribute to the act of service by sending letters and drawings to those who’ve served our country!
