The Lucy Wortham James Elementary School will offer free developmental screenings for five year olds entering kindergarten next year. Appointments are needed for the April 3-4 testing days and are being accepted now.

Students must be five years old on or before July 31, 2020 to be eligible. Screenings will give parents information regarding where their kids are developmentally and will allow for enrollment in the 2020-21 school year. Screening provide parents with a complete overview of where their child is and what areas should be addressed to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. A screening must be completed before a child may enter kindergarten next year.
Parents need to bring proof of residency, a birth certificate, shot record, and social security card when attending their screening. All students must live within the St. James School District.
Appointments are being accepted now by calling 573-265-2300 extension 10608 to set up a time for the screenings. Testing will take place on April 3 from 3:30 to 7 p.m. and on April 4 from 8 a.m. until noon. Screenings will take place at the Lucy Wortham James Elementary School.
